AB  - Little is known internationally about the psychiatric epidemiology and mental health services in Tibet. This article reviews the relevant research of psychiatric epidemiology and mental health services in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), P. R. China. There is a substantive number of people suffering from mental disorders and psychological problems in an area with a general lack of modern mental health institutions and professionals.
